In A Beautiful Sight, Apollo 11 Takes Off
As you may or may not know, I’m a big fan of manned space flight. I’m being serious. I truly marvel that man can leave Earth and bemoan the lack of progress and support for human travel away from Earth.
Such being the case, I thought it appropriate to commemorate the June 20th anniversary of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin touching down on the Sea of Tranquility. Pretty amazing or as The Onion described it.

Oh man, I was twelve that summer and I remember running out to look up at the moon and running back in to see the television coverage - maybe I thought I’d actually see them running around up there, but it was an amazing day.
I love space - loved studying it, am fascinated with space travel (and a total Star Trek nut!).
I wonder if we’ll see a manned flight to Mars in my lifetime. Sending robots is also interesting, but boy, would I love to see an actual human walk on the surface!
Yeah, I have my geek moments! : D
